Can I purchase a warranty for my frames?

No. You can not purchase a warranty for your frames, however our frames do come with a manufacturer warranty. This covers any manufacturer defects for one year. In the event of loss or non-covered breakage, an identical pair may be purchased for 50% off one time within one full year after purchases. There is no charge for this warrenty. Warrenty may not apply to certain insurance sales.


I use "reader" glasses, do I need to buy a pair of glasses from you?

Reading glasses bought from your local drugstore may work for some people, but they do not work well for people who have a different prescription in each eye, or whose eyes are not centered in the lens. Headaches are a common problem in those cases. When you get a new pair of glasses made with your current prescription, you are getting a custom pair of glasses made specifically for the needs of your eyes.


How do I reduce the glare on my lenses?

You can reduce the glare on your glasses by adding anti-reflective, or AR coating. This helps to reduce glare some people get while driving at night or glare from your computer screen, which reduces eye strain. AR also allows other people to clearly see your eyes through your glasses.  


I found a frame some place else. Can you put new lenses into them?

Yes we can. If you found a frame elsewhere and would like to use your insurance benefits with us to put new lenses in, just bring in your frame and we will put lenses into the frame. However, in this case we will not be able to guarantee or warranty these frames. If you were to purchase a frame from our optical, we can guarantee the quality of the frame and can replace a broken frame if it falls under the manufactures warranty. 

Contact Lens Exam & Fitting 

Jules Vision Centers does examination for fitting all types of astigmatic, bifocal, soft, gas permeable, disposable, and conventional contact lenses. It is important to remember that contact lenses are considered a medical device by Federal Law and getting a proper fit every year is extremely important to the health, comfort and safety of your eye.


Why is there a contact lens fitting portion of the exam?

The contact lens portion of your eye exam is critical to ensure that your eyes are healthy, that your lenses fit properly, and to check that you are seeing properly. This is always required even if your eyes have had no change. This is to verify that your lenses are still fitting properly and to maintain the health of your eyes.


I am interested in wearing contacts but I have never worn them before. What is the process for me to wear them?

You will first need an updated iWellness Exam to check for any changes in your vision and the health of your eyes. The doctor will also then do a contact lens fitting to ensure the proper fit and material of your contacts. Once that is decided, we will order a trial pair of contacts and have you come back in to learn how to insert and remove the contact along with how to care for your contacts. You will be scheduled for a follow up appointment about a week later so the doctor can check the fit of the contact on your eye. At this time your prescription may be finalized and you will be able to order your supply of contacts. 


What do I need a contact lens prescription for?

By Federal Law contact lenses are considered a medical device and require a yearly evaluation and written prescription. This prescription is no different than any prescription that you would fill at your pharmacy. The contact lens prescription is different than your glasses prescription because it specifies the power of the lenses, the size of the lens, the type and brand of lens. 


Is it really that important that I change and clean my contacts?

Yes. By not changing out or caring for your contacts as recommended, you can run the risk of seriously harming your eyes. Common issues that may occur from improper contact lens wearing are eye infection, corneal abrasions and corneal ulcers, which are open sores in the outer layer of the cornea. Many of these complications can be avoided through everyday care of your contacts.


At what age can my child start to wear contacts?

That usually depends on how responsible your child is. Contacts require special care and handling and a child's responsibility levels need to match this. This decision can be made between you and the doctor at the time of your child's visit.


Can a contact lens get lost behind my eye? 

No. At worst, you might have trouble finding it under your upper eyelid if you rub your eye and dislodge the lens from its proper position. If necessary, Our doctors can help you locate and remove the lens.
